Unfortunately there are an estimated two million people living with cancer in the UK and experts have said this figure could rise to more than four million by 2030. Naturally a lot is required regarding medical, emotional, practical and financial support for individuals suffering from cancer. When we were approached by Macmillan Cancer Research we didn’t hesitate in agreeing to take part in a coffee morning.
Macmillan approached major UK companies including us here at Warmseal to support the worlds biggest coffee morning event with all donations on the day going to them. Their challenge was to raise more than 2012’s figure which came to a record breaking fifteen million pounds. An astonishing 115,000 businesses signed up for the coffee morning in 2012 so Warmseal were more than happy in agreeing to take part to help beat last year’s total.
As part of Warmseal’s dedication in supporting cancer research and other similar organisations around the UK, on Friday September 27th we took part in this Macmillan fund raising event. We hosted the coffee morning from our showroom in Throckley with the aim to help improve the lives of people who are affected by cancer.
Warmseal are pleased to announce that our participation was extremely successful. With the help of colleagues, families, friends and customers we managed to raise the impressive sum of £322.12. It was truly heart-warming to see so many people giving up their spare time for a worthy cause.
We would like to thank everyone who took part and made it a morning to remember.
